Entropy of Black Holes in Superstring Theory: Stability of Black Holes in Four and Five Dimensions in Type II B Theories

Andrés García Escovar, José Rolando Roldán

Resumen

In Superstring Theory there are solutions to the differential equations for the background metric that are analogous to the solutions hat contain Black Holes (BHs) in General Relativity. The study of these Black Holes is crucial given that they may provide us with information concerning the statistical nature of the entropy for these objects. In this work we shall establish the thermodynamic stability of the Black Hole (BH) solutions that arise from considering a free action for Type II B theories and considering couplings to other fields (such as Maxwell Fields), obtaining an expression for the entropy in terms of physical parameters such as mass, charge, angular momentum, probing the thermodynamic stability/instability of the entropy using perturbation theory. In this particular case, the stability ofthe entropy will be probed taking the variation of the charges that produce the entropy in five dimensional extremal Reissner-Nördstrom BHs .
